St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Jack Strain holds a press conference concerning the infant found abandoned by its mother, wrapped in a blanket and left in the back yard shorly after birth in Pearl River. The infant was found by the infant's 13-year-old brother and 15-year-old sister when they heard the baby crying as they were leaving for school.
