Islenos Fiesta 2014

The 38th annual Isleno Fiesta, presented by the Los Islen†os Heritage and Cultural Society, was held March 8-9 on the grounds of Los Islenos Museum Complex, 1345 – 1357 Bayou Road in St. Bernard Village. A series of living history demonstrations featuring folk crafts, historic vernacular lifestyles and the cultural identity of the Islenos descendant’s community in St. Bernard Parish was among the highlights of the event. The "citizen soldiers" of St. Bernard also presented musket firing demonstrations as part of a presentation on the Battle of New Orleans, the last major battle of the War of 1812.
