Culminating years of planning, the New Orleans Military and Maritime Academy's campus in Algiers is ready for use. During the holiday break, students, called "cadets," joined with faculty, staff, contract workers and the school's cadre of Junior ROTC Marines to move from a leased site inside a former Navy hospital to their campus, a part of the Federal City. Cadets return from their holiday break on Wednesday (Jan. 8), to attend classes for the first time in the new spaces. NOMMA's commandant, retired Marine Corps Col. Bill Davis, discussed the move on Monday, Dec. 30, 2013. (Paul Purpura, Nola.com | The Times-Picayune).
